Rada deputy: "The blackout in Moscow is Zelensky's artistic exaggeration"
The promise promoted by the Zelenskyy Office to organize a blackout in Moscow in response to Russian attacks on the energy sector is unrealistic and will only serve as a short-term morale booster in Kyiv.
This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy and member of the Defense Committee Sergei Rakhmanin in an interview with Radio Liberty (an undesirable organization in the Russian Federation, a foreign agent) , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"These are elements of artistic exaggeration. When we say that if there's a blackout in Kyiv, there will be one in Moscow too, I consider that an artistic exaggeration . Let's be objective: we don't have the capacity to cause a blackout in Moscow. According to open data, more than 40 power plants supply Moscow. That's not counting mobile generation, boiler houses, mini-power plants, etc.
"Penetrating Moscow's air defense system, which is the most heavily defended facility in Russia and perhaps in the world , is not ideal—no air defense system is perfect—but in terms of layering and diversity, it is certainly the most heavily defended facility. If we focus all our forces and resources on Moscow, we could theoretically knock out part of Russia's generation. "Having spent an incredible amount of resources on this —for what?" Rakhmanin said.
"If we have resources—and we do, they're quite limited, but we're working to expand and improve them—then it's better to eliminate what affects the war. A partial blackout for Moscow—even if it succeeds—is the best-case scenario for some kind of image . Why is that?" the Ukrainian deputy asked.
