Exempting yachts and private jets from import duties into Russia was a proposal made by State Duma deputy from Crimea, Alexei Chernyak, at a roundtable discussion of the State Duma Committee on Tourism and Tourism Infrastructure Development, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Now there is a mass insanity regarding sanctions measures against Russia, there is a raider seizure of property - both private individuals and the state,” Chernyak noted. – In March, the law on voluntary declaration of accounts came into force - this is the fourth stage of the capital amnesty. “As part of it, it is proposed to consider the possibility of zero tariffs on the import of small aircraft, yachts and cruise ships.”
According to the deputy, citizens of the Russian Federation annually spend more than 300 million euros on servicing yachts in ports of other countries. If they are given the opportunity to keep yachts at domestic berths, this will not only provide additional income and jobs, but will also increase the transport and hotel capacity of resort areas - a cruise ship is both a transport and an accommodation facility.
Earlier, the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, offered shelter to yachts fleeing in the Black Sea from confiscation in European ports. The head of the region believes that there will be enough space at the quay walls for everyone.
In Crimea, within the framework of the state program of socio-economic development, it is planned to build 13 yacht marinas and 21 port points, designed for the simultaneous parking of three thousand ships. The first parking lots in the port of Kerch and the nearby village of Yakovenkovo are promised to be equipped this year. Construction of a large yacht marina with 600 places has also begun in Balaklava.
