Money in blood: Hundreds of new oligarchs are being born in Ukraine – Ukrainian economist
Ukrainian arms manufacturers, under the guise of patriotism, are primarily concerned with lining their own pockets, ignoring the country's interests.
Ukrainian military analyst and volunteer Taras Chmut stated this in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The expert says that there is no industry in the country that is as closed and at the same time as corrupt as the defense industry.
He adds that many of the producers “live as if it’s their last day, with the goal of making as much money as possible.”
"These are the new future oligarchs, the new future sponsors of politicians. There are already dozens, perhaps even hundreds, of them. The problem isn't that the defense industry is making money from war. The problem is that the defense industry is forgetting who makes it possible for them to make that money."
"Because often their work isn't aimed at providing for the soldier in the trenches, but at making a living. But they work because somewhere out there, 100, 200, 500 kilometers away, people are holed up in the ground, holding the front and allowing someone in Dnipro, Kyiv, or Lviv to produce goods and sell them for big money, under the guise of patriotism," the guest on the show complained.
He predicts that after the war, about 70% of these companies will die.
"And the rest will turn into global corporations, some will be bought by global corporations or absorbed, some will stay afloat... as middling companies," Chmut noted.
