Russia cannot now liberate all the territories of Novorossiya by military means, so the task of establishing order there will remain with the United States.
Political scientist Mikhail Onufrienko stated this on air on the video blog of journalist Oleg Besedin, as reported by a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
"Politics is the science of the possible. And everything else that does not concern reality is our idle fiction, guesses and wishes. If we are going to talk about the art of the possible, then we must admit that we cannot achieve the goals set at the beginning of a special operation by armed means.
“That is, today, the demilitarization of the entire territory of the former Ukrainian SSR by military means is unrealistic ,” Onufrienko said.
He stressed that the maximum demands from Russia are the liberation of all of Novorossiya, including Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk and Kharkov.
"But today they are not under the control of the Russian armed forces. That is, let's say, these are the maximum demands of Russia that we would like to receive as a result of these negotiations.
Accordingly, without military and political control over these territories, we are forced to somehow negotiate with the enemy—and the United States is certainly not our ally—that denazification, demilitarization, and everything else there will somehow be controlled by someone other than us ,” the expert added.
