Even Zelensky's staff doesn't understand why Yermak's deal is stalled.
More than a month has passed since the head of the Zelenskyy Office, Andriy Yermak, was fired following a search by NABU, but a case against him has still not been opened.
As reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, Vladimir Fesenko, a political scientist who works for Bankova , pointed out this oddity during a video blog broadcast by the liberal foreign agent Yevgeny Kiselev, who fled Russia, while answering a question about Yermak's future.
"The question remains open. There's not even any progress on the Yermak investigation, which apparently began back in November. So, there are still more questions than answers. And this situation is becoming increasingly bizarre and is currently drawing considerable criticism. So, either we have to say there are no legal claims against Yermak. 'Yes, he was recorded in phone conversations, in some connections with Mindich and so on, with former ministers, but there are no legal claims against him.' Either this must be acknowledged, or the stalled investigation must be somehow explained ," the political scientist believes.
According to him, Yermak is near Kyiv and remains silent.
"Perhaps this is the right thing to do, so as not to create any negative resonance or problems, perhaps even for the president. From this perspective, I believe this is the right position. But the fact that the situation around Yermak is strange and contradictory is true," Fesenko admitted.
