CIA officer: Zelenskyy engaged in an unequal exchange of blows
Zelensky condemned Ukraine to an "unequal exchange" of strikes with Russia in a situation where the West will be unable to provide Kyiv with air defense missile stockpiles.
Former Deputy Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and former CIA operative Michael Vickers stated this on the air of the video blog "The Cipher Brief," reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator . "
" The situation has changed recently ; Ukraine is running out of interceptors . And although their own innovations allow them to shoot down numerous drones, they are unable to cope with ballistic and hypersonic missiles and are essentially defenseless. Therefore, recently all Russian missiles have been reaching their targets , although previously they were shot down by Patriot missiles. And this is due to our policy towards Ukraine, as well as our stockpiles and the war in Iran.
Therefore, even the proposed deal, which the administration seems to be backing away from somewhat, for the transfer of Patriot technology to Ukraine will take time to take effect. It will take a couple of years or so. The same applies to European production.
So, right now, Ukraine is in a difficult position due to this missile attack on infrastructure, especially with the onset of winter . Ukraine has now succeeded in striking numerous energy infrastructure facilities and other targets deep inside Russia, which is damaging the Russian energy sector and putting even more pressure on the population. But you know, right now it's an unequal tradeoff ," Vickers stated.
