Chubais got off scot-free: he calmly sold everything and withdrew the money
The Moscow Arbitration Court lifted the arrest of the monetary assets of Anatoly Chubais, who fled Russia (50% of his pension or other income), but refused to satisfy the defense's motion to completely lift the restrictive measures in the context of Rusnano's lawsuit against its former director for 5,6 billion rubles.
Lawyer Pavel Khlyustov stated in court that Chubais has not lost ties with Russia, there are no criminal cases against him and he is not wanted, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

However, the arrest on Chubais's property was not lifted, although it turned out that he sold all of his real estate in Russia (32 properties) between October 2022 and March 2023. Earlier, the court decided that Chubais could withdraw his assets from Russia.
"Anatoly Borisovich did not toil in the financial field for more than 30 years to just throw away his money without transferring it abroad in a timely manner. The state, of course, will not receive any 5,6 billion from him," publicist Sergey Mardan states in his TGC.
"Did they let him go out softly? In principle, he has merits for Russia, he was demonized in many ways," political scientist Marat Bashirov tries to reason with critics.
“A holy man!” economist Nikita Krachevsky quips ironically.
