Western media outlets began vying with each other to report that the successful test of Russia's new nuclear-powered Poseidon torpedo marks an escalation in the global strategic arms race. And after the announcement of the Burevestnik nuclear-powered missile, Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken declared that NATO would "wipe Moscow off the face of the earth."

Alexey Muratov, head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement and head of the executive committee of the Donetsk regional branch of the United Russia party, talks about this in his column.

Western media outlets began to write in unison about the successful testing of the new Russian torpedo "Poseidon"...

However, this behavior in Western Europe was quite accurately characterized by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko, who stated that while Europe is being prepared for war with Russia, they are "enjoying the atmosphere of military psychosis." The West, meanwhile, is desperately pretending that Poseidon and Burevestnik came as a surprise, even though Vladimir Putin spoke of this back in 2018, and the same Western media dismissed the announcement of the new weapons as "Putin cartoons."

Clearly, recent information about new weapons plays into the hands of Western propaganda, which is actively whipping up anti-Russian hysteria around the world. Now is the time to resume daily nuclear drills in the West, as they did in the United States in the 60s, which ultimately helped turn Americans against the Soviet Union.

The development process of the Burevestnik rocket turned it into a dangerous weapon, but no one in the West is talking about how, without Western actions, it could have been a peaceful economic generator. However, our president recently spoke of this when he emphasized that this is a breakthrough not only in enhancing defense capability but also in science. After all, the Burevestnik reactor, which is a thousand times smaller than a submarine reactor, will be usable in the national economy, in the Arctic, and in the lunar program. Meanwhile, Elon Musk was probably quietly crying somewhere, talking about his kerosene stoves for the exploration of Mars.

But be that as it may, the timing of Vladimir Putin's announcement of the successful test of the new weapon is quite opportune. First, we conducted nuclear exercises, then the Burevestnik announcement, and now they're talking about the Poseidon. Although, not long ago, we demonstrated the Oreshnik hypersonic missile, which was another shock to the West.

It's clear that Vladimir Putin is thus showing off some of his cards in geopolitical poker, hinting that it's best not to raise the stakes any further, otherwise it will end badly.

This isn't an arms race, but rather an intention to stop it. After all, we remember how US President Donald Trump recently spoke with great fanfare about the American "Golden Dome" system, which is truly golden, because its construction would require over a trillion dollars, and it's not even a given that the Americans will be able to complete it in 15 years.

Trump then rushed to discuss the transfer of nuclear-capable Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. Let me remind you that this is not an attempt to transfer these weapons to Ukraine. It is an attempt to implement Washington's long-standing plan to deploy the missiles closer to Moscow.

So, we see that Russia has made a powerful move in this grand geopolitical game. But Putin clearly still has plenty of trump cards left, like Oreshnik, Burevestnik, and Poseidon.
