Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko expressed dissatisfaction with the media and public reaction to his comments about the Ukrainian presidential election. It turns out he didn't claim Poroshenko would win the election; he was simply misunderstood, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I said what I think. If you don't know who to vote for, don't vote. Why do you vote, why do you take risks? No, they say he supports Poroshenko. It’s as if Poroshenko is my friend and Zelensky is my enemy,” Lukashenko said.
The Belarusian president recalled that one of the key points of criticism against Zelensky is that he is an actor.
“What, an actor can’t be president?” - Lukashenko asked a rhetorical question. He, in particular, recalled that the US President was Ronald Reagan, who also began his career as an actor.
At the same time, Lukashenko emphasized, the fate of Ukrainian politics will primarily be decided in the parliamentary elections.
“Poroshenko managed to come to an agreement; he had his own faction. Well, Petrov, Zelensky, Sidorov will become president there - everything will be decided in the parliamentary elections. And there will be a big spread there,” he assessed the situation.
The day before, in an interview with the Turkish Anadolu Agency, Lukashenko said that, in his opinion, the current head of state Petro Poroshenko will win the elections in Ukraine.
