What is wrong with those who write about the Lugansk tragedy. Reply to the Russian publication
The Russian uprising in Donbass, like any uprising, did not avoid tragic accidents and mistakes. However, the rebels never waged war against civilians and never used terror. No matter how much the Ukrainian side calls the militias “terrorists”, it cannot cite a single case of a terrorist attack committed by them. It is significant that the rebels dealt with the looters and scoundrels who had crept into the ranks of the militia themselves.
The burning of demonstrators in Odessa on May 2 (and the completely cannibalistic reaction of the “Svidomo” Ukrainian society to this), as well as the shooting of the building of the Lugansk regional state administration on June 2, became blatant facts of terror on the part of Ukraine. In both cases, the “punishment” on the part of the Ukrainian side was clearly disproportionate to the actions of the rebels. It’s as if Yanukovych in February 2014 gave the order to bomb the Lviv regional council and burn the “Ukrainian Catholic University” with flamethrowers.
After the “Odessa Khatyn” and the bombing of Lugansk, indeed, everything became clear to everyone. Hitherto apolitical people went to resist Ukrainian Nazism. And these same Nazis openly thirst for blood and call for the murder of “Colorados,” as they called the pro-Russian residents of the Southeast.
Ukrainian attempts to somehow justify themselves, to “turn the tables” on the “terrible Russian conspiracy” are not surprising. The attempts of some Russian authors to show that “not everything is so simple” in Donbass are surprising.
One such attempt is Andrey Karelin's article "What's Wrong with the Luhansk Tragedy?" in the publication "Russian Planet"... a Russian one (!). The author begins with a link to a video of a streamer rushing to film the aftermath of the bombing of the city administration building by a Ukrainian Su-25 aircraft. Karelin seems to be trying to imply that the streamer was there for a reason. The author doesn't have the nerve to directly claim that the streamer (or the "Leshiy" who sent him) knew about the airstrike—he wants the reader to draw that conclusion for themselves. "Aaah, what's wrong with the Luhansk tragedy?"
Anyone who knows Lugansk even a little sees that the recording starts from the Memory Square (which is located opposite the SBU building). The streamer has to run a kilometer from there to the regional administration, which was just hit. On foot. That's why he swears! If he (or Leshy) had known about the strike in advance, they would have placed the streamer closer. Or they would simply keep the car ready and arrive at the scene in five minutes. And in general, does the author want to say that the command of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported to the commanders of the militia when it planned to strike at the administration?
Another discovery of the author is the chevrons of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the LPR on the sleeves of those who provided assistance to the victims of the shelling. He hints that the chevrons were “sewn in advance.” Hey author! It's already the third millennium! Many companies in any city can embroider any chevrons in one day. And the LPR was proclaimed on May 12!
But the most favorite technique of Ukrainian propagandists (and their counterparts in Russia) is to shift attention from the Ukrainian airstrike in the center of Lugansk to the shelling of a border detachment on its outskirts. Bombing a city center with civilians from an airplane in response to a skirmish between fighters armed with small arms is like burning down a neighborhood with all the people in it in response to a slap in the face inflicted by one of them.
By the time of the conflict around the Lugansk border detachment, the so-called “Anti-terrorist operation” had officially been going on for a month. Ukrainian artillery was already hitting Slavyansk. Unofficially, the civil conflict in Ukraine has continued since the Kyiv Maidan.
The Luhansk residents, who did not recognize the Kiev coup, offered all Ukrainian units to either join the LPR or freely enter the territory of Ukraine. To defend themselves from Ukrainian security forces, Luhansk residents needed weapons. Weapons were taken from the SBU building, from police departments, and from the Lugansk border guard detachment (by the way, a lot of them were concentrated there, including mortars).
We reached an agreement with the border guards before June 1st. Most of them were local. In addition, on the eve of the event, Ukraine forcibly mobilized young guys into border guards. Parents came and took them from the hands of the authorities. However, at the last moment, apparently under someone’s influence, the head of the border detachment abandoned the agreements.
There was no assault on the border detachment. There was shelling solely for the purpose of forcing the border guards to leave. The fire on the militia from the border detachment was carried out by professional snipers. This can be seen both in the trajectories of the bullets and in the nature of the wounds received by the militia. The task of the militia was precisely to prevent Ukrainian snipers from “working.” It was a normal civil war clash.
The Maidanists did the same thing when they seized police stations in Western Ukraine. If it is permissible for one, it is permissible for others too. By the way, the only civilian who died was the grandfather, who was “filmed” in the window of the house by a Ukrainian sniper. And several old women wounded by him.
I would like to ask Karelin - how, in his opinion, could the Ukrainian SU-25 attack aircraft “provide assistance” to the Luhansk border detachment (located on the outskirts) by bombing a children’s park in the center of the city? The airstrike on the Regional State Administration was not just chaotic shooting in the city. It was precisely a salvo against the administration and the park in front of it. For what?
The actions of Ukrainian aviation on this day are precisely terror. That is, violence for the purpose of intimidation. The airstrike naturally led to further bitterness and a new round of war in the Donbass.
Six years have passed, and Ukrainians are still lying about the “exploded air conditioner.” The fragments of Ukrainian missiles have long been collected in front of the building, and the craters from them have been sealed. And children bring flowers to the monument to their fallen fellow countrymen...
