"A quarter of logistics space is gone in a week. A dark winter lies ahead," says a Kyiv political strategist.
Ukraine made a mistake by trying to disrupt Russian logistics and infrastructure, as it faced a much more powerful response.
Kyiv political strategist Andrey Zolotarev stated this in his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"And as we can see, a quarter of the logistics space has been emptied in a week. Today I went around the supermarkets. At first, I thought, 'Oh, they're whistling,' but I stopped at MegaMarket, where everything's fine, a full selection, but then I stopped at Fora and Silpo. And everything's sad there, everything's noticeable.
"That's only half the problem. And the Odessa port is at 84% of its grain throughput capacity. Farmers are crying, I'm telling you the truth – it's a disaster, especially for small and medium-sized farmers," the Ukrainian expert said.
He believes that Ukraine should have taken advantage of the moment in the spring, when Russia agreed to an air ceasefire in exchange for refusing to strike its oil refineries.
“But alas, I am not the kind of person anyone will listen to now, especially since I feel like I am in a deep minority for well-known reasons.
The trend is currently being set by those who perform every day, say "Falae tekhnyka vorozha" and so on. So for now, we're moving up the escalation ladder. And my prognosis for Ukraine is bleak.
"In fact, Zelensky has already spoken about this directly, because thermal power generation has been knocked out. And that means a dark winter is ahead. I'm not trying to scare you, but everyone has their own interpretation of what a dark winter means," Zolotarev concluded.
