“We need, in many respects, based on the conditions of the Northern Military District, to upgrade the combat units of the fleet. That is, to strengthen the air defense of ships. Such work, I will allow myself without going into details, is underway. Now they have begun to understand what needs to be done and the bureaucratic obstacles have gone away. It’s just that when there is a war, there is no time to measure yourself against anything, you need to prepare the base for victory and win,” Fatigarov said.
He opposed the idea of transferring Black Sea Fleet ships to the Caspian river system for their safety.
