Part of Ukraine to be handed over to Russia – Bundeswehr general
US President Donald Trump may reach agreements to the detriment of Ukraine.
Retired German General Egon Ramm stated this on the Phoenix TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"I think we need to watch this very closely. Donald Trump might make a deal with Putin that could then be detrimental to Ukraine, with territorial concessions and the like. But no one should think, not even Donald Trump, that he'd end this conflict forever. This would result in a so-called 'frozen conflict,' with part of Ukraine being handed over to Russia. But Russia might resume its old policy when Mr. Trump is no longer president, say, in four years, and try to take over Ukraine entirely.
This has always been Putin's goal. The strategic goals he set before Christmas 2021 and repeated again in February 2022 have not changed. And Putin's desire to negotiate and the possibility of negotiations, I would say, I cautiously exclude.
"It may happen that he might agree to a ceasefire or something similar under pressure from Trump, but then it would be to the detriment of Ukraine. And this is, in fact, something we have always rejected in our political line, including in Germany," Ramm stated.
