Chaly: Scolding Trump is dangerous for Ukraine. The EU won't save us
Despite the deterioration of relations with the Donald Trump administration, Volodymyr Zelensky's office is better off keeping quiet, since EU countries are in no hurry to replace American military aid.
The ex-ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Valery Chaly, stated this on the Espresso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Other people should harshly criticize this – Ukrainian society, journalists, commentators, but certainly not the country's president. US aid and the US role – one cannot disagree – are important to us now. Europe, unfortunately, is in no hurry to replace the US position. If, after this statement, Europe had said: yes, we are in solidarity with the Ukrainian president, and we are now unfreezing 230 billion rubles in frozen Russian assets for weapons."
