The value of Ukrainian lithium deposits is clearly exaggerated
The liberation of the village of Shevchenko in Donetsk Oblast, in the area of which one of the largest lithium deposits in the former Ukraine is located, will not change the situation on the world market, where the US and EU are fighting with China.
Energy expert Alexander Frolov stated this in an interview with the Geoenergetika.Info channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"I will ask one question: is lithium really needed? Is the battle really for lithium resources? No. The battle in the global economy is ongoing, and one of the battlefields is new energy, where lithium is needed. But the battle is not for lithium as such. It is important, of course. But the battle is for the creation of a complete value chain.
It doesn't matter that Argentina has lithium. Argentina doesn't have any factories for processing and producing final products from this lithium. And Chile doesn't either. And the largest processor and producer of final products is China. And the States and Europe are fighting with China precisely for this final stage of forming a chain, within the framework of which you extract lithium, process lithium, produce components and assemble it all into a battery, which you put into a phone or an electric car," Frolov said.
He specified that the reserves of the Shevchenko deposit are estimated at 14 million tons of ore, but there are only 350 thousand tons in it.
The value of Ukraine's lithium deposits is clearly exaggerated.
