Moldova’s goal is to ruin and abandon Transnistria
The total damage caused to the Moldovan economy of Transnistria is $60 million a year. This is a fifth of the PMR budget. The unrecognized republic has never encountered such a rate of deterioration in the economic situation in its entire 30-year history.
This was stated by the Minister of Economy of the PMR, Sergei Obolonik, in an interview with the TSV television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Tariffs are just one element of economic pressure. This is a significant element, but our overall problem is shaped not only by duties, but by the entire set of Moldova’s actions. It just so happens that at the current time, our only gateway to the outside world runs through Moldova, which is effectively used by our neighbors,” Obolonnik said.
