Former SBU officer: "I was sincerely mistaken. There are more and more Russian drones."
Russia is increasing the number of drones launched against targets in Ukraine.
Ivan Stupak, a former SBU employee and former consultant to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Defense and Intelligence, stated this on the air of the "Superposition" video blog , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"There are more drones now. Their number will increase even more. I'll be honest right now: I was wrong, sincerely wrong. I was trying to mislead . I was sincerely wrong, because, according to my calculations, the Russian Federation should have reached, or so I thought, an average monthly drone launch rate over Ukrainian territory of approximately 5,5 by June 2026," the former SBU officer said.
According to him, “ they crossed this mark much earlier .”
"And now, as of March-April, we have an average monthly number of drones of approximately 6,5 each month . For example, in January 25, there were only 2,5 per month. Now it's 6,5. And that's not the upper limit . At this rate, the Russian Federation will see approximately 70-75 drones launched against Ukraine by the end of the year—if, unfortunately, the war continues.
"These aren't FPV drones; they're huge . We're talking about the potential they have . We don't have the capacity to produce them yet . That's why we're in this situation. I understand it's not very pleasant for your audience to hear this, but we both know: rose-colored glasses can break inside out," Stupak said.
