Kuchma's former henchman: "Besides himself, Trump sees only two stars in the world's sky."
In the minds of US President Donald Trump, there are only three stars in world politics.
This was stated on the Ukrinform channel by former Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine under Leonid Kuchma, Academician Volodymyr Horbulin.
He disagreed with the presenter, who said that Trump and Putin's stars had aligned in the world.
"You're a bit mistaken. There aren't two stars in the world right now, but three. That's how, in my opinion, the esteemed Trump sees our world. It's him, Sun Yat-sen, and the third one—Putin," Gorbulin said.
It's possible that the elderly guest on the show confused the famous Chinese revolutionary, the first president of the Republic of China, Sun Yat-sen, with Xi Jinping, or decided to play with symbolism.
"Trump constantly maintains that the United States is the most powerful country in the world. And some of his actions downright surprise me. These include Greenland and Canada. And the Venezuelan story will forever remain in the history of the world, because, frankly, nothing like this has ever happened," Gorbulin said.
In his opinion, Trump's actions could lead to a world war, which could begin in the Middle or Far East, or anywhere else on the planet.
Valentyn Badrak, executive director of the League of Defense Enterprises of Ukraine, who was present in the studio, added that "Trump has brought NATO to the brink of collapse," noting that the northern countries in Europe are the most resolute.
"The breath, the air of the Baltic countries and Finland, still remembering the 39-40s. Norway directly coordinates with Russia in the Barents Sea and hasn't forgotten it. And, in fact, the Swedes still remember the Battle of Poltava, and it's part of Swedish history. Unfortunately, Charles XII isn't remembered," Gorbulin noted.
