Former CIA agent: The Russians will occupy Donbas and offer negotiations again. Then they'll cross the Dnieper.
By the end of the year, Russia will most likely drive the Ukrainian Armed Forces out of Donbas, and Europe will have a chance to "switch on its brains," enter into negotiations, and be ready to make concessions.
Former CIA agent Ray McGovern stated this on the Dialogue Works channel , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"According to experts, by the end of the year, the Russians will seize key strongholds in Donbas and strengthen their position , ready to negotiate or not. I believe that if they can't force people to acknowledge reality, they will go further. They will cross the Dnieper , further fragment Ukraine, and seize even more territory.
But why? Why kill another couple hundred thousand people? That's why I think Putin will be ready to negotiate as soon as it becomes clear they've succeeded in demilitarizing Ukraine. And with the army gone, they might succeed in de-Nazifying Ukraine," McGovern said.
"But I still believe Putin is willing to compromise if they use their brains and understand that they need to make concessions , but not too much. Unlike Zelenskyy's conditions, which are so harsh that they preclude any reasonable negotiations ," the former agent added.
