Russian budget for 2017 looks like a tense nerve - senator
Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy Oleg Ryazansky called on his colleagues in the Federal Assembly to vote for the budget proposed by the Russian government for the next three years in the first reading, and then finalize it through amendments.

“The budget is complex and extremely tense, like a tense nerve. There are no backlashes or stashes just in case. As a social worker, I am concerned that at the macroeconomic level everything is fine, but when we start working on the details, questions arise,” Ryazansky said on the Vmeste-RF TV channel.
As negative examples, he cited a decrease in the cost of living for older people and a lack of funding for organizing summer holidays for children (in the 2016 budget, more than 4 billion rubles were allocated for these purposes).
“In terms of the minimum wage (minimum wage - ed.), we have slipped to the level of Cambodia. Moreover, of the 800 thousand people who are affected by this indicator, 600 thousand are public sector workers. The fact that we are raising the minimum wage by some percentage does not mean that we should stop creating the corresponding road map and reach the level enshrined in legislation: the cost of living should be equal to the minimum wage,” Ryazansky said.
