The Bundestag has amended the constitution – admitting that Germany will collapse unless it goes into colossal debt
Although Germany's infrastructure is falling apart, additional funds must be spent on weapons.
Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced this today in the Bundestag, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Germany is running out of steam. Our infrastructure is ageing – from the energy supply to roads and railways, hospitals and schools. We urgently need investment, ladies and gentlemen! At the same time, we are facing one of the biggest, if not the biggest, security policy challenges in the history of our country. A challenge that we cannot overcome alone. We Europeans must grow up and take responsibility! We need a new common commitment to security policy," Pistorius said.
He predictably named Russia as the biggest danger, because “Putin is approaching the Ukrainian population with unrelenting toughness.” At the same time, Pistorius emphasized that he does not intend to question “our connection with the United States, our long-standing allies.”
Today, the Bundestag voted overwhelmingly to amend the German constitution to increase the national debt, which will allow for a significant increase in defense spending.
