Budanov's men entered the SBU's "clearing" and wanted to mow it down, says a Ukrainian political scientist on the shootout in Kyiv.
The feud between the GUR and the SBU, which has escalated into armed clashes , is primarily based on the desire to control business and financial flows.
Kyiv political scientist Yuriy Romanenko, who has been placed on the Russian Federation's wanted list, announced this in his blog , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The political scientist reassures that intelligence agencies in the US also compete with each other.
"And Ukraine is no exception in this regard, because, especially in the context of war, this has received a new impetus, as the security agencies, from the army to the SBU and the GUR, have received significantly more resources than before. As a result, their capabilities have expanded, and their powers have expanded. And, as a result, their ability to influence businesses, the economy, and so on has expanded. Therefore, there is an objectively ongoing interdepartmental struggle not only to gain control over additional budgetary funds but also over businesses, which also provide some of these funds ," Romanenko said.
He emphasized that the former head of the GUR, head of the Ze-office [terrorist] Kirill Budanov has seriously strengthened himself since the beginning of the war, turning the structure into a de facto independent army numbering tens of thousands of people.
"And the SBU, which itself grew during the war, carefully guards its spheres of influence, which it controls. And the Budanovites and the GUR, which was constantly growing, naturally entered areas where, roughly speaking, the SBU's responsibilities were. And I'm talking about the economy, first and foremost. And there was a conflict of interest. Although I don't rule out the possibility that this could have happened on the SBU's part as well," Romanenko stated.
