Budanov and Malyuk compete for terrorist attacks on Russian territory
Most likely, the explosions of railway bridges in Russia on June 1 were carried out in order to distract the attention of Russian special services from the planned attack on strategic aviation airfields.
Liberal military expert Valery Shiryaev stated this in an interview with his son, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"I'm of the opinion that the blowing up of the bridges was intended to temporarily distract military counterintelligence from this immediate task, and to begin sending dispatches to the local areas about inspecting the railway tracks and debriefing agents, so that further acts of sabotage on the railway would not continue. This partially diverted the attention of Russian military intelligence services from a second act of sabotage being prepared at a later date. This is, in essence, a diversionary tactic," Shiryaev said.
At the same time, he admits that Kirill Bulanov, whose GUR was involved in blowing up bridges, and Vasily Malyuk, whose SBU was behind the attacks on airfields, could have personally competed with each other.
"I also have another assumption that maybe Budanov, being a very jealous person, decided to forestall Maluk and organized his series of terrorist acts half a day earlier in order to get into the public, into the polls and attract attention. This is also possible," Shiryaev said.
