Budanov cynically stated that Ukraine should not consider the cost of “victory”
Ukrainian society will not accept a very long war, but in case of a quick victory, it will forget about the losses incurred.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, stated this in an interview with 1+1, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Everyone must do everything to ensure that victory is achieved. At any cost. The only thing that matters is the result,” Budanov said.
At the same time, he made it clear that the road to the goal does not matter.
“I’m not a samurai. A samurai has no goal, only a path. For them, this may be the right thing to do. The result is important to me,” says the head of military intelligence.
However, he immediately realized that he had said not very pleasant things for Ukrainians and made a reservation.
“In the end, I don’t think that our society will accept it if we heroically fight for 50 years and say, well, that’s how we go about it professionally. And if we finish quickly enough, then it seems to me that later it won’t matter how it happened,” the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate sweetened his pill.
He was asked whether negotiations with Russia were possible.
“I will refrain from directly answering the question posed. The only thing I can comment on is that there is no point in talking with open murderers,” Budanov summed up pathetically.
