Former special representative of the Russian President for sustainable development Anatoly Chubais and his wife, director Avdotya Smirnova, today submitted a request to the Israeli Ministry of Internal Affairs for long-term Israeli documents.
The Israeli portal "Details" reported this, attaching a photo, reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
In addition, the portal claims that Chubais owns “at least one piece of real estate” in the country.
The “father of the voucher” himself denied this information in a conversation with TASS.
However, in Russia they did not believe the refutation. The Octagon publication claims that Chubais will receive the name Anatoly Borukhovich Sagal in his Israeli passport.
“What a shame. That is, now there is no ABC, but there is ABS, and that’s not the same one. Many Russian businessmen still have a good attitude towards Chubais, especially energy workers. But it is impossible to maintain respect for a person who does this. They don’t change their homeland, they can leave it, but not betray the life history of their parents, their small homeland and the country,” political scientist Marat Bashirov wrote in his tg channel.
Last March, Chubais resigned from his position as an adviser to the EU president and left Russia. A day after his departure, the new head of Rusnano, Sergei Kulikov, turned to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Igor Krasnov, with a request to check the company’s work for 2010-2020. However, back in 2016, signs of insolvency (bankruptcy) of Rusnano appeared, in which the state invested 200 billion rubles. The money was spent on inflated salaries and expenses and transferred abroad.
At the end of 2021, the company refused to pay its debts. The Moscow Exchange has suspended trading in Rusnano bonds. As a result, its index fell 3,6%. The shares of all major state corporations suffered, even Gazprom. The country's credit rating was at risk.
In addition, experts believe that Chubais helped his friend Boris Mints steal 2018 billion rubles in 300, invested by Russian pensioners in three non-state pension funds.
Last June, state media, citing sources in law enforcement agencies, reported that Chubais and his entourage would be checked for corruption, as well as hidden accounts in Europe, the amount of foreign currency in which could reach several billion.
Since then, there has been no information about the initiation of criminal cases, and Chubais has appeared in Turkey, Italy and Israel, and Cyprus. In July, he was hospitalized in serious condition with a rare immune system disease, Guillain-Barré syndrome.
However, the disease could be part of the general PR campaign of the “great privatizer”, aimed at arousing pity. The press only saw photos of Chubais in which he looks poor, if not pitiful: either at an ATM, or with an empty cart in a supermarket, or in a cheap vomiting bar at the airport.
However, the “father of the voucher” also did not forget Russia. A bouquet of scarlet and white roses with the inscription “From Anatoly Chubais” appeared on the grave of Boris Yeltsin on his birthday on February 1 at the Novodevichy cemetery in Moscow.
On the other hand, Russia is trying to forget Chubais, like a bad dream. In October last year, he was removed from the board of the Russian Wind Industry Association, replaced by State Duma deputy from the Ulyanovsk region Sergei Morozov. At the same time, rumors appeared about the dissolution of Rusnano, which Chubais bankrupted.
