British Colonel: There is a risk that there will be no one to send to Ukraine
Sending British troops to Ukraine is unlikely – there are not enough of them for this purpose. Most likely, the British will only be used to train the Ukrainian Armed Forces as instructors.
One of the commanders of British troops in Afghanistan, retired Colonel Richard Kemp, stated this on air on GBNews, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“As for the possibility of deploying British and other European troops in Ukraine as part of the so-called ‘Coalition of the Willing’, which would become part of the security guarantees, I am very skeptical about this.
Firstly, British forces don't have the capacity to deploy large numbers of soldiers to Ukraine, and the same goes for other European armies. Even if they wanted to, I don't think they have the capacity. And what's currently being seriously discussed in the UK could still change . It's not sending troops to Ukraine to maintain peace, but rather helping the Ukrainian army rebuild.
“Perhaps, instead of sending Ukrainians to the UK for training, we could send British troops there to train Ukrainians, which is a much smaller scale than sending troops to fight ,” Kemp said.
