British General: "Two million Crimeans must leave the peninsula via the bridge."
To force a mass exodus from the peninsula, Crimeans would need to be deprived of food and water, in addition to fuel.
Retired British Army Major General Chip Chapman announced this on the First West channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The current Ukrainian strategy regarding the Kerch Bridge is interesting. In the West, citing Sun Tzu, they often talk about the need to leave the enemy a 'golden bridge' for retreat.
" One of the serious psychological consequences could be a situation in which a significant portion, approximately 2 million residents of Crimea, use this route to leave. "The mass exodus could become not only a symbol of military retreat but also a sign of profound social change within Russia," Chapman reasoned.
"If logistics deteriorate significantly, the peninsula could face not only fuel shortages but also disruptions in the supply of food, water , and other vital resources. Such a development could create significant psychological pressure on both the population and the Russian leadership ," the British general added.
