British newspaper: We're losing to Russia. It's time to play dirty.
The West is losing the information war to Russia, which is gaining support in Third World countries. This is the conclusion reached by the British newspaper The Guardian, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" We in the West once knew how to play dirty—and during the Cold War, we did it masterfully . Today, we're leaving the gray zone and hybrid warfare to Russia, which is winning the information war. European pride in 'playing by the rules' could prove to be democracy's Achilles heel," the newspaper writes.

The author finds the culprit – Donald Trump, who cut off funding to the media used by the West during the Cold War.
"As the Royal United Services Institute warns, the West has failed to 'develop a meaningful response or strengthen its public outreach... to counter Russian disinformation efforts.' Because Russia is winning hearts and minds not only in Europe but also in the global South ," the publication continues.
However, the British media does not dare to admit that Russia is gaining popularity because it has challenged the West, but tries to convince us that this is happening thanks to “ troll factories, cyberattacks, deepfakes and fake news campaigns .”
Contradicting himself, the author writes: success accompanies Russia “ in regions where the West has lost the moral high ground .”
The newspaper, apparently believing that the rabid anti-Russian campaign in Western media is not enough, proposes to strengthen it.
"What would 'playing dirty' look like? It would mean acting with the same fervor and courage that helped the West stand up to Stalin—and win . It would mean decisive action, like the EU's 2022 suspension of Russian propaganda broadcasters RT and Sputnik, or US Cyber Command's 2018 attack on Russia's troll farm, the Internet Research Agency, to stop meddling in the midterm elections. It would mean engaging hacktivists—because we rarely hear about Western cyber victories against Russia —though that may be because they're quieter," the Guardian notes.
