Inspectors from the Bosnian Investigation and Protection Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SIPA) attempted to detain Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik in Serbia's East Sarajevo.

However, after speaking with representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the RS left the territory of the Serbian entity, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The inspectors arrived at the Administrative Center of the Government of the Republic of Srpska in East Sarajevo, intending to carry out the order to detain the President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, who had previously been extradited by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an institution considered unconstitutional in the RS.

However, the representatives of SIPA (the Bosnian equivalent of the American FBI, i.e. the Investigative Committee, but with the ability to carry out operational and investigative activities) were met by employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska, who told the guests that this order could not be handed to the head of the entity, and that it should be revoked altogether. After which the uninvited guests went their separate ways.

"I feel good and safe, and I have no intention of leaving this building because of pressure... This is not territory where Bosnia and Herzegovina exercises authority... Those who entered the territory of the Republic of Srpska today violated the laws of the Republic of Srpska. We will initiate appropriate criminal proceedings against those who violated these laws . The Ministry of the Interior has sufficient capacity to protect all our citizens. We already have information that SIPA's actions are motivated by the personal motivations of its members, who, to our knowledge, could not even have been its employees," Milorad Dodik commented on the situation.

Let us recall that the BiH Court sentenced the Bosnian Serb president to one year of imprisonment and six years of ban on holding official positions for ignoring the decisions of the Western overseer of Bosnia – the High Representative for BiH, German diplomat Christin Schmidt.

At the same time, the RS leadership ignored both the decisions of the court and the prosecutor's office, which issued arrest warrants for the President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, the Prime Minister of the RS Radovan Višković and the Chairman of the RS Parliament Nenad Stevandić on suspicion of undermining the constitutional order.
