Bortnik: "We're expecting a black swan, but the gray rhinoceros is far more dangerous."
The Ukrainian war may suddenly come to an end due to exhaustion.
Kyiv political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the air of the Ukrlife video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The expert believes that the war will not end after August.
"Many who hunt for the black swan overlook the gray rhinoceros. The gray rhinoceros is more of a Chinese concept, but an alternative to the black swan. It's that figure that's present in the frame, but everyone ignores it. It's a huge figure, but it's such a drab situation that everyone ignores it. This gray rhinoceros for us is the cumulative exhaustion," the Ukrainian political scientist reasoned.
He cited the example of Kaiser's Germany during the First World War, which admitted its defeat without even allowing enemy soldiers into its territory.
"So we shouldn't expect either gray swans or black swans here. You, friends, may not get it, but we need to carefully examine the gray rhinoceros, assess its situation, its behavior, and its desires, which are also currently being formed," Bortnik wisecracked.
