Bortnik: Scenario of freezing the SVO with exchange of territories – victory for the West
The freeze scenario being tossed out by Western media, which supposedly Presidents Trump and Putin must approve in Alaska, which assumes the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from Donbass in exchange for the withdrawal of the Russian Armed Forces from part of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, is strategically more advantageous to the West.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this in his blog, reports a correspondent "PolitNavigator".

«This means that Russia is abandoning its strategic goals.. The situation may develop very similar to the Soviet-Finnish war, when Finland was forced to cede territory. But the USSR refused to occupy most of Finland, the capital, and create another Soviet republic.
Now the situation is approximately the same. On the one hand, yes, the possible exchange is disproportionate in terms of territory. But from a strategic point of view, it is beneficial to Ukraine's Western partners. Russia remains locked in the east of Ukraine. Strategically, Ukrainian statehood is preserved, somewhere around 80% of the territory", Bortnik said.
