"Fight and you will overcome": NATO admiral in Kyiv quoted Shevchenko and commemorated the Ukrainian People's Republic in Crimea.
Supporting the war in Ukraine should be a priority for NATO countries, because “peace without strength is an illusion.”
The Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone , announced this at the Kyiv Security Forum, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

" Yesterday, April 22, reminded us of Colonel Petro Bolbochan's Crimean Operation in 1918, when UPR forces broke through to Crimea and entered Dzhankoy during the campaign to restore Ukrainian authority there. This was just one chapter in Ukraine's long struggle for freedom, for its own freedom."
That's why Taras Shevchenko's words still resonate and ring with particular power: "Fight and you will overcome. God will help you. Truth, glory, and holy will are yours."
"Those were fair words . They remain true today. Kyiv is teaching us a fundamental lesson. Freedom has its price. And peace without strength is just an illusion," Dragone declared.
" That's why supporting Ukraine remains our priority. At stake here is the credibility of the international order on which all our countries depend. Ukraine today is an integral part of the democratic community that defends these principles.
“And I, as a military officer, as a commander, am proud to work alongside the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which in a very short time have achieved an extraordinary level of operational effectiveness,” the NATO commander added.
