“More than 75% of people are in favor of joining the Russian Federation... I am absolutely convinced that the overwhelming majority will vote,” he said, emphasizing that Crimeans are driven by the desire for security, as well as “cultural and historical unity.”
Konstantinov clarified that the decision on the referendum on joining Russia was made yesterday “at half past one in the morning.” “We decided that the referendum should not give any more questions, the people themselves asked: “Why are you waiting until the 30th, they will finish you all off?” You won’t get to the referendum at all!” – the speaker explained.
According to Konstantinov, Kyiv has not demonstrated any desire for dialogue with Crimea. “Instead of sending a delegation, find out what people in the South-East need... How to hold elections in such conditions?” - said the speaker.
