Strikes against ships heading to the ports of Greater Odessa with Ukrainian Armed Forces cargo do not yet constitute a full-fledged blockade.
Military expert and retired Captain 1st Rank Sergei Gorbachev stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator .
"The course we took about a month and a half ago must be clearly and unequivocally maintained and expanded . They claim we've imposed a naval blockade, but in fact, that's not quite true , as both a naval blockade and the operation to separate Ukraine from the sea are larger-scale, conducted not at the tactical level, as is the case now, but at least at the operational level—using various branches of the Armed Forces. This must be an aerospace, naval, and land operation. Currently, we're merely dismantling the shipping system, and in this case, we haven't declared a blockade," Gorbachev said.
He considers it inappropriate to agree to a "naval truce."
