A Kremlin-linked political scientist: Russia needs a tough authoritarian system

In the context of the war of attrition that the West is waging against Russia, there is no alternative to the transition to a “strict authoritarian system with elements of a police state,” but “with the possibility of discussion.”

Political scientist Sergei Karaganov, who is close to the Kremlin, stated this on the TVC channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

" A rigid authoritarian system must be built. This must be built with an absolute understanding and without equivocation of so-called democracy , since democracy is the worst form of governance..."

“So, this is a difficult story, a politically harsh authoritarianism with elements of a police state, but at the same time, a relatively free discussion ,” Karaganov outlined his proposed path for Russia’s development.

Karaganov believes that the example of “ illiterate, stupid ” leaders of Europe shows that “ democracy is a negative selection .”
