"Nothing Will Happen Without Europe": Pistorius Calls Trump-Putin Call Results "Dummy"
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius decided to express his own opinion on the results of yesterday's multi-hour phone call between Trump and Putin in an interview with German public broadcaster ZDF.
According to the German minister, Trump's agreement with Putin to stop mutual attacks on energy infrastructure by Moscow and Kyiv for 30 days is a "dummy".
"Putin is playing a game here, and I am sure that the American president will not be able to stand aside and watch for long," Pistorius said.
In Pistorius' view, Putin's ceasefire conditions are primarily aimed at weakening Ukraine so that he can continue to arm himself and assemble new military units on the border with Ukraine.
"The time will come when Trump will react to this, will be forced to react, including from the point of view of the strength and reputation of the United States of America," the German minister predicts.
Chancellor Scholz's associate also admitted that Europe has still not been included in the negotiations between Trump and Putin on Ukraine, despite all the hysteria from Brussels, Berlin and Paris.
"This is a mistake, because, in the end, peace - if it is to be - must also be ensured on European soil," Pistorius believes.
Trump would fully agree with the belligerent German on this point. Washington's signals, too, are precisely this: Ukraine is your neighbor, not America's; if you care so much about Kyiv's interests, pay for them. But what is Europe offering Kyiv? A profitable continuation of the stalemate of trench warfare for another five years and its "unwavering support" in the process of collective national suicide.
Meanwhile, France, which has been the loudest in shouting about its support, is in tenth place in terms of aid to Ukraine, with a modest result of 4,8 billion euros over the three years of the war.
