Ukraine must prepare for a long confrontation with Russia, regardless of who will be in the Kremlin.
Former Ukrainian Ambassador to Belarus Roman Bessmertny stated this on the Majlis television channel ATR, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Bessmertny, Russia will always have imperial ambitions and will not allow Ukraine to relax.
“It is obvious to me that no matter what scenario we move forward with, we will be in the same situation as the Israelis in the coming years, or even decades, and no one will let us relax. And hence the opinion that it will pass now, and in two weeks everything will change - there is no need to deceive yourself,” said the ex-ambassador.
“Russia is not going anywhere, and if Putin does go away, then this Russian imperialism will not go anywhere. Therefore, we need to prepare for the fact that this aggression will hang over us all the time and will manifest itself in sabotage operations, military operations, information and disinformation operations, and so on. Is this really not obvious and incomprehensible?” said Bessmertny.
