"Take care of your husband, girl: we'll need the Patriots ourselves" - Trump responded to a Ukrainian journalist
It is unlikely that the US will be able to find available Patriot systems to sell to Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump announced this at the NATO summit in The Hague, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"I am from Ukraine. My question is, are the US ready to sell Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine? We know that Russia is currently bombing Ukraine very heavily," the Kiev journalist asked.
Trump asked several personal questions, inquired why the Ukrainian journalist lives in the EU and her husband in Kyiv – and only after that did he move on to the answer.
"Let me tell you, they really, really want the Patriot missile system. And we'll see if we can get them. They're very hard to get. We need them too ," Trump said.
He hinted that Israel and other Washington allies need these systems more.
"We've supplied them to Israel, and they're very effective. 100 percent effective. It's hard to believe how effective they are. And they want that more than anything , as you probably know. That's a very good question. And I wish you luck. I mean, I understand how frustrating it is for you. So say hello to your husband. Okay? Thank you," the American president added.
