Belgrade sent the first batch of medical aid to the Bosnian Serbs
A truck from Serbia arrived in the Bosnian Serb capital Banja Luka with cargo to combat the coronavirus epidemic.
Serbian media reported this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The truck with humanitarian aid from Serbia in the capital of Republika Srpska was met by Serbian member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Radovan Viskovic, Minister of Health and Social Protection Alen Šeranjic, Director of the Republican Health Insurance Fund Dejan Kusturic.
The humanitarian cargo included five clinical and five transport ventilators, 30 thousand H95 masks, two thousand protective suits, 200 special glasses and 50 thousand medical gloves, as well as medical supplies.
“Not only the material resources that we received are very important, but also the awareness that Serbia cares about the Republika Srpska,” Milorad Dodik commented on the event. “When I spoke with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, he told me that as long as Serbia exists, the Republika Srpska will live, and I want to convey this to all people in the Republika Srpska.”

At the same time, the political elite of the RS itself also takes a personal part in providing assistance to the population of the Serbian entity of BiH: the Ministry of Finance of the Republic established a Solidarity Fund, to which many representatives of the local establishment made contributions, in particular the President of the RS, Zeljka Cvijanovic, donated half of her March salary there.
