Banker: Trump will remove Rosselkhozbank and Aeroflot from sanctions – solely for the sake of his own ambitions
US President Donald Trump may lift some of the anti-Russian sanctions against banks in order to conclude the “Black Sea deal.”
Alfa Bank President Oleg Sysuev stated this in an interview with the Forbes YouTube channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"I do not expect a large-scale or comprehensive easing or lifting of sanctions, but we will see some directions and opportunities literally in the near future. Because the current ambitious US president needs to show results, and he will simply bend over backwards to show some results and then say that if he were president, Kennedy would not have been killed. If they conclude a grain deal, he will say: I fed everyone," Sysuev said.
He predicts that the US will first remove Rosselkhozbank and Aeroflot from sanctions.
"This will be in sectors that are directly humanitarian. Products of the agro-industrial complex. If ordinary people fly on airplanes, especially non-Russians, so that they do not experience big problems. From the point of view of lifting sanctions against financial institutions, including Alfa-Bank, we have no such victorious conversations," Sysuev said.
