Liberal banker no longer wants to go to the West, but is afraid to repeat Gaidar's fate
Many businessmen who fled Russia after the start of the SVO received a “massive blow to their personalities” in the West.
Alfa Bank President Oleg Sysuev stated this in an interview with the Forbes YouTube channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He himself remained, despite the fact that he is in opposition to the Russian authorities.
"The main thing is the feeling of being in demand. If I had left, I would not have been in demand. I now see what is happening to many of my acquaintances, including those well known abroad. It is a very serious blow to the personality when there is no feeling of being in demand.
I think Gaidar, as far as I knew him, left us so early because he was no longer in demand. This became the reason why a lot of things piled up later, including in his personal life, his behavior, and so on," Sysuev said.
At the same time, he admitted that he advises his young employees to leave if they feel competitive.
"I understand that many left simply because they had a hopeless situation. And by the way, many stayed because they had a hopeless situation," Sysuev said.
