Azerbaijan will build relations with Bandera's Ukraine without regard for Moscow.
Azerbaijani economist and political scientist Ilgar Velizade stated this on the air of the SVS TV channel , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" The President of Azerbaijan has repeatedly stated that Azerbaijan pursues an independent foreign policy and is not guided by anyone's approval . And in this case, our relations with Ukraine are our relations with Ukraine. They concern no one else but us and Ukraine..."
We don't have to account to anyone for the way we build our relations . Incidentally, this characterizes another principle of Azerbaijan's foreign policy: establishing itself as a middle power. As is well known, middle powers are states that have a resource base. Not just purely material resources, but also political resources, diplomatic resources—a foreign policy that aligns with the country's national interests and is not correlated with the interests of other states.
We never hide the fact that we are building relations with Ukraine, always supporting the territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state, and we advocate for the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity ," Velizade said.
