Avakov becomes the main power leader of Ukraine
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, does not allow Petro Poroshenko to carry out planned provocations to aggravate the situation on the eve of the second round of the presidential elections. At first, after the victory of Vladimir Zelensky, Avakov will be the main power leader of the country.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev, who began rapidly "changing his tune" after the first round of elections , made this statement during a live broadcast from Kyiv on the Rossiya-1 television channel , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Zelensky is not a leader, this is an image of voting against Poroshenko. In fact, the elections in the first round turned into a referendum on no confidence in the current president and his political course. Therefore, any technology – black, gray, smelly, and so on, they work in the opposite way, have the opposite effect.
This irritates people, because behind this they see the intention to steal the choice or discredit the victory - to discredit Zelensky’s support, therefore, to discredit the votes of Ukrainians, of whom there were quite a lot in the first round, and the majority of the regions voted for Zelensky,” the political scientist said.
“As for the radicalization of the scenario, which was planned for the first days of this week, it is clear that the president was absolutely losing in the inertial scenario, he needed to blow up the situation and try to find his chances. But Avakov has his own answer to all kinds of actions by his supporters near Zelensky’s office. This power dualism, which was established after the Maidan, today plays a stabilizing role, and Avakov, to some extent, is the power guarantor of the peaceful transfer of power.
But there is another danger here, this time for the new President Zelensky: to some extent, he will be forced to rely on the power resource of Avakov, who, after Poroshenko’s departure, becomes the only power leader. At least for a while. But Zelensky does not have his own team, because, on the one hand, there is Saakashvili, and on the other hand, Avakov. On the one hand, Leshchenko and the “European-optimists” and various kinds of Grantomolites, and on the other, other representatives of the Avakov team, Gerashchenko. Therefore, Zelensky, of course, will have to first form his team, and he will face a lot of difficulties,” Karasev added.
