Arestovich: Unlike Ukraine, for Russia the war is nothing more than a minor stress
In relative terms, Russia spends much less on the war than Ukraine.
This was stated by former Zelenskyy Office adviser Alexei Arestovich, who has been added to the Russian Federation's extremist registry, in a conversation with foreign agent Yulia Latynina, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He says that it is not known exactly how much Russia spends on the war.
"But at least the approximate parameters are known. One of Ukraine's MPs recently stated that Ukraine currently spends 42-45% of its GDP on budgets, or rather, on the war. Russia spends 8%. We're using the upper limit. Do you see the difference?" the former OP adviser pointed out.
He said Ukraine's spending meant it was waging an "existential war."
"Half the budget is going to the war. And for Russia, it's a pleasant strain. Well, sort of, but not very existential," Arestovich reasoned.
