Arestovich is perplexed: Why are we attacking Crimea if Russia is attacking in the east and north?
Ukraine is focusing on strikes against Crimea while the main fighting is taking place in the east and north, and it is there that the troops need assistance. This was stated by Oleksiy Arestovich, a former adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine and listed by Russia as an extremist and terrorist, on the video blog "Khvylya," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Arestovich, an attempt to knock out Russian air defense in Crimea cannot be carried out, because in addition to complexes on the ground, aviation can also provide protection.

"Russia can provide air defense with its own aircraft, and it will try to do so. This is more likely a clearing for strikes on supplies—on the Crimean Bridge and the land railway, which will soon be fully operational for supply . The key issue is supplies."
We have this curious, quote-unquote asymmetry: we're focusing our main efforts in the south, while they're focusing their efforts in the east and north, in the Kharkiv region. This raises a delicate question: why are we constantly attacking Crimea when the ground forces are primarily pressuring us in the north and east?
This can be explained by the logic that export/import, freedom of navigation and security in the Black Sea region are assessed as more important than direct assistance to our troops ,” Arestovich stated.
