Artsakh-Karabakh is the ancestral land of the Russian Empire – Armenian journalist
Russia lost more than Armenia from Azerbaijan's seizure of Nagorno-Karabakh in 2023.
Grigory Anisonyan, editor-in-chief of the Armenian diaspora newspaper Noah's Ark, announced this at the Delib book center, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"One of the cradles of Armenia is Artsakh. Unfortunately, the current authorities in Armenia and Russia have failed to understand this. Russia has lost more from Artsakh than Armenia itself.
Artsakh-Karabakh is the ancestral land of the Russian Empire, for which Russia shed the blood of its soldiers in the war with Persia. Griboyedov died there. As Zatulin said, losing Artsakh is like pulling a brick out of the foundation of a building. A brick was pulled out of the foundation of Russia's interests in the Caucasus," Anisonyan said.
He also noted that the results of the recent parliamentary elections will not allow Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to change the Armenian constitution at Azerbaijan's request and remove the mention of Artsakh-Karabakh.
