America Shouldn't Get Involved in Iran - Russian Ambassador
Russia and China will deal with Iranian nuclear weapons without help from Washington or other Western countries.
The Russian Ambassador to Britain, Andrei Kelin, announced this on the English Channel 4 News, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"What role is Russia playing in trying to improve relations between Iran and America after Trump offered Iran nuclear talks?" the host asked.
“You know, there was a trilateral meeting in Beijing recently between Russia, China and Iran. And we got strong signals that this is indeed the case [Trump did propose].
Iran will not succumb to pressure. Iran is a big and very serious country and we should not put too much pressure on it., because they actually have a lot of opportunities,” Kelin said.
He stressed that China and Russia can deal with Iran; Washington does not necessarily have to get involved.
“And it is much better to continue negotiating with Iran on the nuclear deal, rather than involving other parties, such as the US administration, in this.
It's not about missiles, it's not about regional issues and the like. If we have certain negotiations with Iran about a nuclear deal, we must complete them on terms that are acceptable both to Iran and to those who participate in the negotiations," the diplomat concluded.
