The era of undivided US dominance in the unipolar world is over.
American political scientist and professor at the University of Chicago John Mearsheimer stated this in a conversation with Norwegian political scientist Glenn Diesen , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Around 2017, the era of unipolarity came to an end, and we moved to a multipolar world in which there are now three great powers: China, Russia, and the United States ,” Mearschmeier said.
He believes that the previous liberal order, led by the United States, is now being challenged by BRICS.
According to him, the current situation is reminiscent of the Cold War period, but with the difference that “ there are now three great powers operating on the world stage, and not one, as in the period of unipolarity, or two, as in the era of bipolarity .”
The expert notes that NATO expansion began precisely during the era of unipolarity at the peak of US power.
“It was then that the West began to think about making Ukraine
