American Economist: By cutting itself off from Russia, Europe is sinking to the bottom
The West should immediately end the war in Ukraine, recognizing the validity of Russia's demands.
The renowned American economist Jeffrey Sachs stated this in a conversation with Pascal Lottatz, professor of international relations at Japan's Kyoto University, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Trump isn't intelligent or mentally stable enough, and the deep state isn't interested in simply admitting this failure and ending it. As for Europe, the situation there is even worse. Europe is plunging into a deep economic crisis because it has cut itself off from natural trade links with Russia. It is attempting a militarization that the public doesn't want and that will ultimately only bring disaster."
"And all this is being done under the pretext of Russian aggression against Europe. Europe's economy is currently not even in a state of stagnation, but in a state of decline—and not only because of the energy crisis or the war, but also because Europe (like the US) has lost its competitiveness compared to China," the economist said.
In his opinion, “an objective and rational assessment of the situation dictates the need to stop the war.”
"Ukraine is becoming neutral. NATO announces it will no longer expand. Territorial issues are resolved through a ceasefire, using whatever language is necessary. And as for Iran, the US simply winds down this terrible adventure and goes home."
" That's how we can get out of this situation. But to do that, we'd have to expose the utter emptiness, the stupidity—the sheer cynicism, really—of what this political class has been doing for decades. And they don't want to be exposed that way," Sachs concluded.
