Ukraine needs American missile defense for offensive in southeast, Israeli army officer
The American Patriot missile defense system can be used to cover the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the southern direction.
Retired IDF officer Grigory Tamar stated this on the Israeli television channel Iton TV, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Tamar, Russia has a great advantage from the air, so the Ukrainian group is at risk of destruction in the southern steppes if it does not receive cover.
“I think that it will help cover the grouping of Ukrainian ground forces, which are now preparing to launch a large-scale counter-offensive strike. My personal assumption is that it will be launched in the south-eastern direction in order to cut off the Crimean group of Russian troops from the supply line with access to the Sea of Azov.
By itself, one installation can cover one settlement, a large city, for example, Zaporozhye, Kharkov, but nothing more. But there are a great many such cities in Ukraine. It's a big country with a lot of population, which is why I think it was so important to get this for this purpose. Because if they bring such a group into the field without air cover, and the strategically promising south-eastern direction is the steppe. The Russians today still have air supremacy, plus missile potential - by bringing such a group into the field, they will expose it to very high risks of destruction from the air,” Tamar said.
